Trees

Trees constitute a major landscaping feature in Greentree Village. Except in an emergency, residents must consult with the Environment Committee prior to any tree cutting.  The written approval of the ACC is required to remove any live, ornamental tree with a truck more than four inches (4”) in diameter.

The GVC has begun its winter tree trimming for 2007 budget year. We began this task in December as we experienced many trees down (Green Ash Drive, Open Field and Green Ash Court, especially) due to the heavy wind storm and tree rot experienced over the past month. We are anticipating this tree trimming should withstand any snow and ice weather conditions that may incur during the next few months. Hopefully, with this trimming, we will have secured the more severe trimming for the overall community for another two years (2009).

Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas trees will be removed from AAA Disposal and will be announced on the community bulletin board.

For more info, click here to read the Christmas Tree Removal information in Homeowners Manual.

Pet Walking Areas

Owners are to walk their pets in the adjacent Greentree Park on the other side of Fieldmaster or along Fieldmaster Drive. Please do not curb your pets in the common areas, islands or residential properties within Greentree Village. It is against the law to allow animals to trespass on, destroy or damage another person’s property. The owner or custodian of any dog shall be responsible for the removal of excreta deposited by such dog on the property of another, including public areas.

For more info, click here to read the Pet Guidelines in Homeowners Manual.

Fairfax County’s Community Emergency Alert Network (CEAN)

Become better prepared for an emergency or severe weather event by signing up for Fairfax County’s Community Emergency Alert Network, or CEAN, a free service of the county’s Office of Emergency Management.

People registered on the CEAN will be provided real-time updates, instructions on where to go, protective actions that need to be taken and other important information such as National Weather Service watches and warnings. CEAN alerts may cover personal safety, weather, major accidents involving utilities or roadways, or disaster notification such as a terrorist attack.
